How to choose a decaf or half-caf coffee
By the CDL Team. Updated 2026-10-22.
Pick decaf if you want to cut caffeine almost entirely, and half-caf if you want roughly half the caffeine with more of a regular coffee taste. Our shop does not sell a decaf yet; a Half Caf Colombia Blend has been announced but is not available to buy. Our review catalog includes three decafs, with Purity Balance Decaf rated 3.4/5.
Decaf
Look for how the coffee was decaffeinated (roasters often list the method) and buy whole bean so it stays fresh longer. Decafs in our review catalog: Purity Balance Decaf, Blue Star Supernova Decaf, and Wind & Fire Brazil Mogiana Decaf.
Half-caf
Half-caf is usually a blend of regular and decaf beans. Wind & Fire has announced a Half Caf Colombia Blend; we will add its details when they are published.
Until then
If you are cutting back rather than quitting caffeine, you can brew a smaller dose of a regular medium roast from the shop.
